“When I first walked into Constance’s yoga class 38 years ago, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was fabulous then and it’s fabulous now. In the interim, I took classes all around the world and while there were benefits to those classes, they never quite met the high bar of the Houston Iyengar Yoga Studio. Since everyone needs yoga, one might as well seek out the gold standard found here.”

WINTER/SPRING SESSION, JANUARY 5–APRIL 12, 2025

All classes will be held at 1824 Spring Street, #207, unless designated as Zoom classes. Zoom classes are available for students with at least 3 months of experience with Iyengar Yoga. Zoom students must have available a full set of props: 1 mat, 3 blankets, 1 belt, 2 blocks, 1 bolster, 1 folding chair or appropriate substitute. To request Zoom links, email Constance. If you are attending in person, please bring your own mat. Thin, foldable mats are best for Iyengar Yoga practice. If you do not have your own, you may use a studio mat. Other props—blocks, belts, etc.—will be provided. As they may be disturbing to your fellow students, please do not wear fragrances to class.

Please note that the building’s front door automatically locks at 6:00pm. Evening students: please arrive early for your 6pm classes.

Practicing Iyengar yoga gives me a great sense of well-being. As I age, my practice helps me move without pain and keep strength and flexibility in both my body and spirit. The teachers at hiys are knowledgeable and pay attention to their students. Their observations and feedback have helped to make my practice rewarding.
